About Danielle
Danielle Carpio (aka Complex Dani) is a complex trauma survivor, cycle breaker, writer, speaker, and the heart behind the Healing & CPTSD Community. She created this space as a love letter to survivors—because healing doesn’t have to be lonely, clinical, or performative. Having lived through the mess, the grief, and the long road of rebuilding after trauma, Danielle leads from a place of raw truth, emotional grit, and radical compassion.

Her work blends education with embodiment, structure with softness, and community with autonomy. Danielle blends lived experience with trauma-informed leadership to create a space that’s as real as it is revolutionary—where survivors can breathe, be seen, and heal at their own pace. Whether she’s writing, tapping, or hosting a vision board night, her mission remains the same: to help trauma survivors feel less alone and more empowered on their own terms.

As the Founder and President of the Healing and CPTSD Community, Danielle does it all—from backend operations and content creation to community support and team leadership. She schedules every event, builds every support structure, and personally oversees the day-to-day and long-term vision of the entire community. But more than just running things, she’s redefining what leadership can look like in trauma-informed spaces. Danielle leads in a way that centers flexibility, compassion, and humanity—not just for the community, but for the entire team, which is made up of individuals living with CPTSD themselves. She intentionally builds systems that make space for accommodations, rest, and authenticity—proving that a community can be powerful and soft, structured and spacious.
Danielle is a certified EFT/Tapping Practitioner who hosts monthly Community Tapping Hour sessions for members of the hub. Her sessions focus on emotional regulation, nervous system support, and giving survivors practical tools to reconnect with themselves in ways that feel safe, gentle, and real.
Danielle also leads the Raised by Narcissists support circle—a space for survivors healing from emotional abuse, gaslighting, and childhood neglect. With a mix of truth-telling and empathy, she helps others navigate the complex grief and identity work that comes with untangling from narcissistic family dynamics.
Every first Thursday of the month, Danielle hosts the Community Connecting event—an open space where members gather to reflect on the month’s healing theme, check in, and give new members a warm, low-pressure way to introduce themselves. It's a grounding ritual that keeps the community anchored in presence and connection.
Danielle brings joy and creativity into healing by curating monthly community activities like rock painting, vision boarding, inner child gift exchanges, and more. These spaces are designed for connection, play, and soft moments of healing that don’t require fixing—just showing up as you are.
As Editor-in-Chief of The Healing and CPTSD Chronicles, Danielle curates and edits every issue of the virtual magazine. The publication amplifies the voices, stories, and truths of trauma survivors, offering real-life insights and emotional validation in a world that often doesn’t understand complex trauma.
Danielle is also the founder of the Healing and CPTSD Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to providing healing grants and trauma-informed advocacy. The foundation works to increase access to therapy and trauma recovery resources while pushing for systemic change in how CPTSD is understood, treated, and supported.
